It seems the DayZ X account had to rise from the dead this month. Several members of the community noted that the DayZ X account had been disabled, with the entire post history cleared out altogether! This prompted many community members, including @LottieTwitch to question who on Earth one-tapped DayZ themselves!?
Luckily, it didn't take long for @Scotty (DayZ Marketing and Brand Manager) to step in and give us all the update that a simple clerical error resulted in the temporary uncon of the account. Phew.
In the interim, the @BohemiaInteractive account stepped up and posted the highly sought after, Dev Blog. This blog boasts work-in-progress changes such as skybox updates, weather patterns and huge increases to draw distances! More info on this can be found in @Wobo's video below!
Once the DayZ account had been revived by Elon and a few days past to get their bearings, the team announced a brand new Experimental branch, full of hotfixes including a change to how well the infected perceive player sound! This is another shining example of how this relationship works: DayZ innovate and implement, the community test and feedback, DayZ tweak and repeat. DayZ's huge success owes itself to this workflow, so never be afraid to speak up.
DayZ also announced their 4th Dev Blog for week 26, featuring a very exciting deeper look into the development of Frostline. The interior design and new buildings stirred up quite the fuss along with a few points of interest!
Each month we want to celebrate the hard work this community puts in to keep DayZ feeling fresh and new 10 years on! Below are some of our favourites from the last month.
Popular DayZ streamer @LadyAdventure recently dropped a video chronicling her experiences at the massive DayZ Frostline event in Prague. The video, titled "We SURVIVED DayZ's BIGGEST RL EVENT!", offers a lighthearted and informative look at the event, following LadyAdventure from the initial days leading up to the event to the star of the show itself.
Viewers get a glimpse into the excitement of the event, from coach tours to the campgrounds, along with some of the behind-the-scenes activities like MRE lunch breaks and learning how to make a fire. Interspersed with footage from the event itself, LadyAdventure provides a unique perspective for fans.
Looking to make a few of your Infected a little more trouble to handle?
Developed in the G Code Discord by Armin Atomic, Armin did some work with items on infected and how they are spawned in once the infected are killed by adding ruined explosives to the infected's loot drop. It makes the usual infected a little harder to handle and a change in tactics is needed while fighting them.
Josie Garfunkle from G code did a video on how to implement them into your server and the various styles you can create.
Check out the video below and add a little surprise to your server.
If you have played Anastara, then you have probably grinned from ear to ear when you found one of the most gnarly melee weapons modded into DayZ.
As @Battlesquatch posted, he has made these cleavers and battle axes a standalone mod for all to enjoy, regardless of the map you want to run!
Nothing is more satisfying than swinging your Hog splitter at a freshi...infected, so we highly recommend you pick these up when you see them.
Traverse a Montana-inspired wilderness in DayZ's Bitterroot, a community-made map by @MatttyIce. Hike through mountains, loot ranches and navigate cities.
While under development, Mattty posted a gigantic update to the map with a playtest to follow! The changes and updates are too many to list, but check out his detailed post for more information!
Highlights include:
10 new towns
Reworked forests
6 underground missile silos
Custom weapons
Cute bear
Friendly?: A DayZ Podcast (shameless plug) review a video for each episode. This Month, Dave has chosen Tommy: I DOMINATED from DayZ's SMALLEST BASE!
Featuring well known creator, JLK, Tommy creates a tiny base in the woods of Chernarus, just south of Devil's Castle. Expect intense gunfights, crafty editing, revenge, despair and base raids.
A newer style to the Xbox DayZ community. Following the footsteps of the PC server DayOne.
This no base building server on the Livonia map brings survival to the next level, with customs bunkers and some unique POI's to loot and explore.
Where will you hide your stash?
Join the Discord for all the info.
Not for the easily offended. !++ is the purest form of DayZ chaos. This full pop 70 slot server has one spawn zone at Kamyshovo.
Loot can only be found on the coast at key POI's like Police and Fire stations. Grab a car or run to the nearest town and kit up to prolong your lifetime.
Look for !++ in the Community tab.
This popular hardcore server has custom locations scattered around the Chernarus map.
Owned and coded by Project Lemons, this harder than official style server will test your skills at both PvP and survival.
Join the Discord for the lore about the server and POI's to help fuel the adventure.
Another helpful chart by @Asmondian, this time, giving us a quick reference guide to all the current diseases and their cures! At this rate, we may as well dedicate a section to the guides each month.
We cannot stress how helpful these guides have been to us and many other players over the years. It's always useful to have these for reference, so take a look and you may learn something new!
Fan favourite Alteria has had a new update! Creator @JohnMcLane666 recently admitted that work on the project had to take second place whilst "'real life' gets in the way", but we're very excited to see that Alteria is back on the project table and getting the JohnMclane treatment again.
Alteria features a beautiful and varied landscape. Expect to find rolling hills, dense forests, well thought-out towns and a beautiful coastal area. This diversity creates different tactical situations in a visually stunning setting.
If you're a server owner and want to spice up your dynamic events (think heli crashes, police events, military trains) then this easy-to-follow guide by @King Alobar might be just what you're looking for!
Demonstrated in the video, King Alobar creates a crashed heli site on top of a building in DayZ Editor, then through some coding wizardry, has that group of objects spawn in Livonia! Neat stuff!
We've seen this before on other popular servers and it always adds a nice, lived in feel. Get creative and give it a shot.
@Tbag is known in the console Dayz community for his outstanding builds and server services.
He mods for some of the biggest DayZ console communities (iZurvive, Dzmt, TGP DayZ Community hub and more)
Co-owner of Custom DayZ Services (CDS) Discord, he, along with his team provide custom builds, servers, logos, video designs, Discord Bots plus much more.
From the early days of DayZ Editor builds to now creating easy to apply file sets with loot distribution tags, you can customise your server further than ever before. This absolute legend, needs to be recognised even though he hides in the shadow's. He has helped countless DayZ communities with their issues and continues to push the limits of console modding higher. He does it for the love of the game and the community he has helped to make.
Check out some of his work at the CDS Discord.
From solo's to squads. From rallies to prison breaks. You won't find a more interesting spread of events!
After a 2 year hiatus, one of the most watched DayZ streamer PvP events is back! As a rule, all 48 participants will have to stream their gameplay. This helps prevent cheating but also puts on one hell of a show for us! You still have time to buy more RAM! More RAM = more stream tabs open at once!
Few details have been released so far, but previous True Colours events pitted 6 teams of 8 players against eachother to be the last team standing. Before they take the title of True Colours Champions, players must first hurdle the test of finding their other team mates. They should be easy to spot, dressed in the same colour, but going by previous years, even this has proved comically difficult.
The event takes place on 20th & 21st of July and will be streamed everywhere!
Additionally, for the first time this year, @HappyBombs is putting on a non-streamer version of the event! If it's not full already, sign up! You will not regret it.
Keep up to date with True Colours in the DayZ Events Discord and HappyBombs X page.
Objective: Teams compete to accumulate the most cash and deliver it safely to the finish line.
Event Foculina
rmat: The Treasure Hunt: Throughout the map, various hotspots will be rich with cash. Teams must navigate and secure these funds swiftly.
Winning Conditions: The team that crosses the finish line with the most cash claims victory and glory. Will it be a dash of speed, a display of force, or an act of cunning that wins the day?
Prepare for a high-stakes, high-intensity PvP and survival battle where fortune favours the bold, and every moment counts.

Here are some notable milestones reached in the past month!
If you have a milestone you want to shout about, let us know!
He needs no introduction and we promise, this is the screenshot he posted, but we would like to congratulate @TheRunningManZ for achievening a whopping 500K subscribers on YouTube!
TRMZ's videos span nearly 10 years of DayZ, with his first video released on 29/07/2014! From amazing adventure team ups to live event showcases.
Well done Paul, a decade of hard work, Capri pants and broken legs.
Any milestone is worth shouting about. Set your goals and achieve them and that is exactly what @BamBam has done!
BamBam streams often on their YouTube channel but also uploads videos, creating cross-stitch art of mostly DayZ related images!
Here's to the next 500 BamBam!
From military tactics to insane sniper moments, @KingAlex achieved an incredible 10K subs on his YouTube channel!
KingAlex plays a variety of games, with DayZ in the mix with Tarkov and ARMA and they all seem to have a similar theme: realism.
Take a look at some of KingAlex's videos and you'll quickly get a grasp on what his channel is all about.
Here's a collection of some of our favourite screen shots from the community and some from DayZ!
“Hey Survivors,
This time, we searched our image library for more summer-related, vibrant screenshots, but as you know, summer vibes are rather scarce in DayZ. However, you will find a few here sprinkled among other random character screenshots. Feel free to use them in your thumbnails, social posts, and so on. As usual, you are free to edit, crop, and change the images!
On behalf of the DayZ Team,
Lynn”
That just about wraps us up for this article. Thank you to every one who has created something to expand the enjoyment of this game.
Continue to use #TalentForDayZ so we can find your stuff!
Keep on surviving.
