A lot has happened in recently in the world of DayZ! From decisive action to fix exploits to an IRL adventure to Chernarus hot spots. Continuing the trend of hiring the best from the community, @SteveSalutesh finally joins the team over at BI.
Steve is responsible for the creation of the DayZ Expansion mod. He has an exciting wealth of knowledge which BI and players can only benefit from. Friendly?: A DayZ Podcast interviewed Steve about his views on the game and what it takes to build such a successful mod, so listen below!
DayZ have also been congratulated on the quality of their recent live stream. These streams have always been a bonus in my eyes. A peek behind the curtain you don't often see from developers, but to see they are willing to step up their game in all areas really should be celebrated. Watch the vod on Twitch!

If you havent heard of Bitteroot, what rock have you been hiding under? @MatttyIce has been working on this gigantic project for 2.5 years, going back and forth with playtests and dev time. Last week (01/08/2024), Bitteroot was finally released to the public with v1.0!
Bitterroot, inspired by the rugged beauty of Montana, immerses players in a vast, open world filled with dense forests, winding rivers, and towering mountains. The map is a departure from the familiar landscapes of Chernarus, offering a fresh and challenging environment for survival and some very unique POI's.
Players can expect to encounter a diverse range of wildlife, from bears and wolves to wildcats, adding an extra layer of danger to their survival journey. Without spoiling too much... if you see anything 'culty', make sure your mags are loaded.

Whilst on the subject of map updates, @JohnMclane has not only released v1.0 of Alteria, adding a working bunker, airfield updates and too many more to mention, but he's also been developing Deerisle!
Both maps are dense with details, full of life and treacherous to the unprepared. One can only speculate how much sleep JohnMclane gets, given the relentless dedication to crafting these expansive and detailed gaming worlds.

If this is talent, then I don't know what is. Not only is @BenFruit one of Australia's best entertainers, but he also clears rooms in DayZ for breakfast.
Watch Ben utterly destroy this squad. The excitement in his voice is so contagious, we couldn't help but include it in this months spotlight.

It's well known that DayZ does not have a tutorial. For new players, this game can be savage so they have had to rely on community videos to guide them.
@FT falls into the 'legend' category of DayZ content creators. He's been producing DayZ videos for over 10 years! So when someone with this level of experience creates a guide on how to play, then you can be certain the info within is pure gold.
New or veteran players alike, watch this video; you may just learn something.

Look at the work @DayZCreationHub have put into this complex. From shops to food stalls, parking lots to giant creepy mime masks on display. This kind of POI is guaranteed to draw the attention of local survivors.

Your mission: capture the 5 checkpoints along the coast.
With two teams pitted against each other, you spawn at your teams base where you need to band together with your Comrades and fight your way along the coastal checkpoints.
Everything you need is at the spawn area to get you into the fight.

FrontlineZ
Promising to be one hell of a stream event, @Arriana and @ChimneyLive are pitting their forces against each other over this two day event.
Each team of up to 25 players will participate in a 5-hour event daily, split into two phases: a 3-hour Looting Phase and a 2-hour Assault Phase. During the Looting Phase, players gather gear with unlimited lives and PvP allowed. Teams must return to their Headquarters before the phase ends. In the Assault Phase, teams have one respawn each and must either defend or attack the Headquarters and raise their flag to win.
Headquarters locations are Bashnya and North East Airfield in Chernarus, and Gliniska Airfield and Nadbor Military Complex in Livonia. Defenders have no base vehicles but can access map-spawning ones, while attackers are equipped with a UH1H Huey chopper and three Humvees. Effective communication and strategy are crucial for success, with fair play and adherence to rules emphasized throughout the event.

It only seems like a couple of months ago, the @FreshSpawns celebrated 500k subs on YouTube. Well now they are celebrating 550k subs and have decided to host a Wild West themed event server for a few days.
Whilst this event has technically already happened for you, the reader, at the time of writing, it's next week so I think deserves a mention. This article is primarily focussed on celebration rather than advertisement.
These guys are pushing boundries and setting target for other to follow. Keep up the insanely amazing work.

The Finals of the Cerberus: Project Sub Zero Season 1 will be on September 1st.
32 finalists from the previous heats will battle it out to be the Champion of Champions! I'm not sure what they're really calling the winners, but that's my submission.
Previous heats have seen HollyRex, LukeLight, SweetestKill and Racaroo post some nasty kills, so this will definitely be one to add to your calendar.

Not only has @HollyRex absolutely exploded in popularity recently, but she was also featured on the front page of Twitch!
With an average viewership of 3.5k (insane), Holly showed a level of calmness and decorum we can only ever dream to achieve.
It's amazing to see creators working so hard and it paying off. GG Holly, and that final True Colours fight was incredibly entertaining.
AmishZed achieved a whopping 80k subscriptions on his YouTube channel recently! This was until his account was sadly and seemingly hacked by now good bandits.
Following this hack, Amish's subs have dropped down to 79.9k and this will simply not do!
Here's his YouTube channel. Go and sub to get the number back above 80k!
Edit: At the time of writing, the above figures were correct, however Amish has achieved 80k again!
